Grapes and Pewter Vase

Just continuing to practice... I had difficulty getting the pewter surface to "read". I'm going to work on some value studies in pencil before trying another reflective surface.

Background

I'm a watercolor and pencil artist creating works in a traditional representational style. I enjoy Still Life and Portraiture and exploring the effects of light and shadow in my work. I also experiment with combining realistic and stylized elements within a single work as a means for more personal and expressive impact.

I earned my BFA in Painting from The University of West Georgia in 1991 and have worked professionally as a graphic and freelance artist for the past 12 years. I have taught drawing & painting lessons & workshops and I'm a current member of the Georgia Watercolor Society.
